Configuring notifications

On the notification settings page you can set how to be notified and what information you want to be notified about. You can find the page by clicking your name in the top right corner of ftrack, selecting Settings in the menu and then Notifications in the menu to the left.

There are two basic options on how to be notified: internal notifications and email notifications. To turn on notifications for a certain type, add the notification options that you want. To turn them off, simply remove the options. The third option, Include in digest e-mail, is the setting that determines whether or not to include the notification type in your digest emails.

What the different notification types mean:

Assignments:When you are assigned to a task.
Unassignments:When you are unassigned from a task.
Task claimed:When someone self assigns to a task. This notification is only available for managers.
Notes:When someone writes a note on an assigned task, object you also have commented on or replies on a note.
Messages:When receiving a message, reply on a message or you have been marked as recipient on a note.
Shot status update:When the status of a shot changes and you are either assigned to a task belonging to that shot or manager of the shot/project.
Task status update:When the status of a task changes and you are either assigned to the task or manager of the task/shot/project.
Asset status update:When the status of an asset changes and you are either the publisher of the asset or manager of the asset/task/shot/project the asset is published on.
New version, dependent asset:When a new version of an asset is published that you are dependent on.
New version, supervised asset:When a new version of an asset is published on a task/shot/project that you are manager on.
New version, assigned task:When a new version of an asset is published on one of your assigned tasks.

Daily email digests

As part of the notifications settings, you can also configure a daily digest. This is a great way to get all the information you need gathered into one email. Perfect if you don’t like to receive email on every little thing that occurs.
