Configuring general settings

General settings can be found at the System settings ‣ General Settings ‣ Settings page.

Here you can specify the default value for:

Use fuzzy dates:If relative dates should be used, eg. 16 hours ago.
Show status in progress:If status instead of state colors should be used in progress summaries.
Company logo:Used to specify an image to use in PDF exports.
Company name:Used to specify a company name.
Enable Room video calls:Adds the possibility to start Room video calls from the sidebar menu.

Configuring advanced settings

Advanced settings can be found at the System settings ‣ Advanced ‣ Advanced Settings page.

Here you can specify the default value for:

Date format:

Dates will appear in specified format, in for instance spreadsheets and reports.


Day
  • d: The day of the month, from 01 through 31.
  • D: The abbreviated name of the day of the week.
Month
  • m: The month, from 01 through 12.
  • M: The abbreviated name of the month.
Year
  • y: The year, from 0 to 99.
  • Y: The year as a four-digit number.
Time format:

Time values will appear in specified format, in for instance spreadsheets and reports.


Hour
  • h: The hour, using a 12-hour clock from 01 to 12.
  • H: The hour, using a 24-hour clock from 0 to 23.
Minute
  • i: The minute, from 0 through 59.
Second
  • s: The second, from 0 through 59.
Default file protocol:

When opening a file from the browser, ftrack will use the given protocol as a fallback.
Week starts with:

Specifies the first day of the week. Currently it can be either Monday or Sunday. It affects the display of the calendars when editing a date.
Version number padding:

Adds leading zeros to version numbers for displaying purposes, making the formatted result at least this many digits.
Enable advanced filter query:

Advanced filter queries can be used to apply API like filters to selected Spreadsheets and Widgets in ftrack. The filters are powerful but very technical and requires a knowledge of how to write queries in the ftrack API.
Automatic thumbnail population:

When enabled, objects without a thumbnail will get the thumbnail from the closest parent that has a thumbnail.
Allowed widget URLs:

A comma separated list with URLs that defines what custom widgets are allowed to be used on dashboards and in actions.
